Covid-19 Statement

As of March 23, 2020, in compliance with shelter in place orders in California and New York, Smith & Hanks has closed its offices in order to ensure the safety of our employees. Our employees are all working from home, and phone calls and emails are being re-routed to available employees. While it may be a bit of a challenge for us, we strive to make our support lines operate with the same high standards we would expect as if our offices were open.   

Our warehouse operations will continue, and we will be shipping orders with minimal disruption.  We have implemented the following procedures with our warehouse team to ensure we are taking every precaution necessary: 

• All staff will be temperature scanned prior to check in.  
• All staff are provided with masks and gloves when applicable for the tasks at hand.  All sanitation materials (i.e., 60~70% alcohol-based sanitizers, anti-bacteria soap, disinfectant wipes, etc.) are stocked and readily available for our teams.  
• No visitor policy (since March 1st). Truckers are exempted and not permitted access to office nor outside warehouse loading zones.  Truckers are also requested to be temperature scanned prior to service at the check-in window. All staff are repositioned in work areas at least 6 feet apart from other team members. 

UPS and FedEx deliveries will continue as normal as possible. While both carriers have released statements that they will no longer guarantee service times, we have seen no delays impact to service. 

White glove deliveries will be suspended until further notice.  In order to reduce possible exposure to the Covid-19 virus, our freight carriers have eliminated white glove deliveries and will not enter customer’s homes.  They will continue with threshold deliveries, which is delivery to your front door or garage.  If the wine or beverage cooler is too large or you have no one to help you bring it indoors, we are happy to store your orders in our warehouse at no cost until such time as a white glove delivery can be arranged.
